Deposit of works is registration of any work and its storage in the archive service of KazAK during period fixed by the author or the whole term of the work copyright, i.e. during life of the author and 70 years after his death.
The deposit is a voluntary act. Both unpublished and published works may be deposited.
The deposit is implemented by open and closed methods. If deposit is open, the access to third parties is allowed, if deposit is closed, the access is prohibited.

KazAK has been depositing the works since March, 2000. However, due to the increased number of deposited works and lack of places for storage, as well as ongoing registration work in the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice, subject to Decree № 12 of the KazAK’s Chairman as of 27 February 2006, KazAK takes on deposit only literary and art works. According to the Chairman’s Order as of 17 June 2011 KazAK deposits the works only of its members free of any charge.
As of 1 January 2015, KazAK keeps deposited 2,115 works.
